Of course, if one is looking at the art of Flesh Gordon, a peek at George Barr's poster is probably warranted, too -
I'm not certain that this one is by Barr as well. Certainly they followed close on the face of Flesh if it wasn't him, but i don't see his signature anywhere (look left of Dale's legs above)...
Meanwhile (okay - actually two years prior), over at the journal of used bicycle seat sniffing, Harvey Kurtzman brings us...

We've already seen Wally Wood's Flasher Gordon 1 & 2 previously, but let's look at that sequel again, this time with the rough page layouts set side-by-side for comparison (and for a look at that rejected alien!) -

Flesh Gordon is the only porn movie I own. As porn it's pretty grim, but I mostly got for the connection to the grand Flash Gordon tradition and the stop motion work. I wish it were funnier and frankly sexier. Very interesting to see this artwork -- thanks.

My own collection got fairly extensive over the years, though a lot have been lost to faded video tape. But there's been a metri buttonne of comic book based porn going back long before the current "Golden Age"* of superporn. Bedman & Throbbin', The Cocketeer, Ms. Magnificent (SuperWoman, until the lawsuit, then Ms. Magnificent with magic marker scribbling to hide the S shield), BatBabe - The Dark Nightie, etc.,. Of course, those are actual porn, not the softcore sorta-porn of the Flesh Gordon movies. They're more akin to Electa, the Shannon Tweed movie that's basically Captain America's kid with the super soldier formula being sexually transmittable.
